Lawsuit Loans Pre-Settlement Funding

How pre-settlement funding works

Five steps from your first call to money in your account, usually within a few days. You never deal with the paperwork alone. The specialist who takes your call works with your attorney and keeps you informed the whole way.

1

Tell us about your case

Seven short questions online, or ten minutes on the phone: who you are, what happened and who your attorney is. No documents yet, and nothing pulled on your credit.

You, about 5 minutes Have handy: your attorney's name and number, the date of the incident, and a rough idea of how much you need.
2

A specialist calls you back

We talk through your situation and answer your questions. Only after you give permission do we call your attorney to confirm the facts of the case and where it stands.

Us Your attorney needs to be on contingency and willing to cooperate. Nearly all are. Funding is routine in personal injury practice.
3

Your attorney sends the case file

We review the complaint, police or incident reports, medical records and insurance information to assess fault and the likely value of the claim. The decision rests on the case alone.

Your attorney, usually 1 to 2 business days We look at who is at fault, the insurance coverage available, how serious the injuries are and how far along the case is.
4

You and your attorney sign the funding agreement

The agreement states the amount advanced, the fee, and how repayment comes out of the settlement. Your attorney reviews it with you, and both of you sign before anything is funded.

You and your attorney, signed electronically Every cost is written in up front. There are no application fees and nothing to pay if you decide not to go ahead.
5

Funds arrive in your account

Sent electronically within 24 hours of signing. After that, nothing is due until your case settles or wins. Then your attorney pays our portion from the proceeds and sends you the rest.

Us, within 24 hours of signing If the case drags on, you can apply for more funding against the same claim.

What happens when your case resolves

Pre-settlement funding is non-recourse. That one word is the whole difference between this and a loan.

If you win or settle

Your attorney pays our portion directly from the settlement, then sends you the rest. You never write us a cheque.

If you lose

You keep the advance and owe nothing. Not the principal, not the fee. The risk is ours.

Questions people ask before applying

Still unsure? Call a specialist. No obligation and no pressure.

Is this actually a loan?

Legally, no. It is a non-recourse advance. We purchase a portion of your future settlement. Because repayment depends entirely on the outcome, it is not a debt and does not appear on your credit report.

How much can I get?

It depends on the expected value of your case and how far along it is. Tell us about the case and a specialist will give you a figure on the call, with no obligation.

Does my attorney have to be involved?

Yes. Your attorney confirms the case details, signs the funding agreement with you and handles repayment from the settlement. We never contact them without your permission.

What does it cost?

There are no application fees and nothing to pay up front. The fee is written into the funding agreement and comes out of the settlement at the end, so you see every number before you sign.

Can I use the money for anything?

Yes. Rent, mortgage, medical bills, car repairs, groceries. There are no restrictions on how you use the advance.

Will it affect my case?

We have no say in how your attorney runs the case or when you settle. If anything, having the bills covered gives your attorney room to hold out for a better result.

I already have funding from another company. Can I still apply?

Often, yes. Tell us on the call. We will need to speak with the existing funding company about the amount already advanced so we can work out what is possible.

Start with step one.

Five minutes online, or ten on the phone. We handle the rest with your attorney.
